It’s my favorite time of the year! I enjoy seeing all the decorations and lights and enjoying the holiday movies. However, when you’re on a mission or have a goal you want to complete, it can be challenging to decide what to prioritize and when. If you’re going to unplug to enjoy spending time with your family, do it! Time is one thing you can not get back. Below I’m sharing tips that will help with your job searches as well as helping set up other boundaries to ensure you enjoy this time of the year!

Respect your time

If you schedule a time to apply for jobs or update your resume, make sure you use that time to do that. Who besides me has ever scheduled something on the calendar and used the time to complete a different task. For those super disciplined people, I applaud you! One lesson I’ve learned the hard way is that when you don’t stick to your schedule or respect the time you set to complete a task, you get behind, and then you start to use the time you set aside for family or to relax to play catch up. So respect your time and schedule times that will work best for you!

Narrow your job searches

Do you know what job you want, or are you searching for anything? Target the type of job and or company you want to work for so you can create 1 or 2 resumes that are specific to that industry. Narrowing your search will also help your network know what jobs to share or not. You can also set up job searches specific to the roles you’re interested in, which is another great way to manage your time.

Last but not least… Update your LinkedIn profile

Yes, it’s the end of the year, but companies are still looking and hiring even if the plan isn’t to hire until the new year! Your LinkedIn profile is your live resume, so help recruiters find you by keeping it updated. This

would be a good time to update the profile and get recommendations on your profile.

These three tips will help manage your searches and set boundaries with your time so you can enjoy the holidays.
